The Edge Detail
Edges are the finishing touch for countertops! The edge type can affect the efficiency, safety, and style of your countertop. Bella Casa Countertops and Stone crafts the desired edge shape profile for the best use and look for your project.
Eased, beveled, and bullnose are included in our labor cost. Most all other edge profiles are available for an additional effort and expense.
Specialty Edges: Waterfall Edge
The waterfall edge is continuous descending the full way to the floor. This contemporary and infinite look resembles water tumbling over a rock face.
The seamless transition between the countertops and floor provides drama and focal point, especially for kitchen islands.
Live Edge
A live edge is a continuous organic look. This edge profile is smoothed to show the detail of the stone throughout, like wood, and shows off the veining or interesting markings in natural stone.
Mitered Edge
The mitered edge is substantial and bold. The mitered edge is assembled from two pieces to give a much thicker looking edge. This solid look is achieved by laminating matched mitered strips of the countertop material with an underlayment.
This creates a uniform and thicker side, making a typical 3cm (1 1/4 inch) width slab appear substantially wider, to 6cm, or even larger as desired.
